Lance means attendant.
David means beloved.
So, Lance David means Beloved Attendant. We like to think of that as waiting on the Lord.
Lance is not a family name...just one we like. Now that Kirk is into cycling, it also makes us think of Lance Armstrong who is an amazing cyclist.
David is for Elder David Bednar, an apostle in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We adore this apostle.
A funny coincidence that we didn't notice until after we had decided on a name is that our little guy's initials will be LDS. Hopefully a constant reminder of values and beliefs he will be taught. So that when he walks out the door we can holler, "Remember who you are...You're LDS!"
Eric and I are smiling at the LDS comment. We are so happy for you.
